Women’s Development Squad
OULC’s Development Squad is aimed at beginners and inexperienced women’s players who want to give lacrosse a go in a friendly and relaxed environment, with the potential of joining the university women’s or mixed teams in the future. There is training twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, where we will be teaching lacrosse rules and technique, running drills and playing games. We have friendly matches organised with the development squads of other universities, with one this term against Bath University on 30th November. This will be a great opportunity to gain valuable gameplay experience with other learning players.
All equipment is provided and cheap mouthguards can be bought from us at training. Come along if you are looking to try something new or are eager to pick up your old lacrosse stick again! Don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Dev Squad Secretaries, Katie McCarthy and Saskia Geddes, if you have any questions.
Weekly training times (weeks 1-8): University Parks

Wednesday 0730-0830 at Iffley sports centre

Hailed as ‘the fastest game on two feet’, Men's Lacrosse is a fun combination of lots of different ball and contact sports. It offers a great opportunity to take up a new and exciting sport completely from scratch as well as grow experienced players. We currently have two teams in BUCS and are growing quickly with lots of new players arriving each year. We have a Blues team and also a Seconds team with opportunities to progress up teams with continued and committed training. We aim to give everyone who trains the opportunity to represent Oxford with only weeks of practice.
Equally, we have had International and American College athletes play within our Blues squad in recent years. The club is one of the oldest being founded in 1903 old and plays in the BUCS Premier League. The club is simultaneously a Half and Full Blue sport with 1st team Varsity players earning a Half and up to 4 further discretionary Full Blues being offered to players of exceptional standard. We foster a welcoming and strong social involvement and are closely linked with the Women’s and Mixed teams too.
Our trainings are;
